Message	Since this is an aluminum carrier you will probably need to use a casing spreader to get the differential shims in place. This is certainly true of the Ford 8.8. The cast iron carriers can be done as I described but the aluminum carriers (on the Lincoln Mark VIII and the late model Cobras) require a casing spreader.
